Best Advice I’ve Ever Received, Part 2

This is the second part of a four-part series counting down the best advice that I have received. And coming in at #3 is (drumroll please)…

“Time, Money and Energy are Renewable Resources.”

– Rachel Rodgers, Author of We Should All Be Millionaires

Time:

Can we change the amount of time we have on the earth? Debatable. Even with a healthy lifestyle, we have a limited amount of control of our lifespan but arguably more control over the quality of the time we have.

Time being renewable means that each morning we get a fresh start and choose how we use our day. We engage in fewer activities that drain us and more that rejuvenate us and connect us. We align our time management with our life priorities.

Money:

If we look at money as a renewable resource, we open our minds to creative ways to generate income. We don’t remain feeling stuck or defeated. We own our power as smart and resourceful people, capable of creating change.

Energy:

I often have hard days in parenting, at work, and in the unexpected things that life throws at us each day. When I feel run down, I think: What can I do to renew my energy right now?

I have been intentionally renewing my energy during marathons for years. I set my pace and push as hard as I can while conserving enough strength for the finish line. I choose nutrition that will replenish energy as I run. And after the race, I have a plan for rest and recovery. It is a good a metaphor for life.

Knowing that all three are renewable resources, how can you best use your time and money to renew your energy? Because when you are coming from a position of strength, you are most able to serve others.
